I had the chance to interview Tina from Tina’s The Outsider,” and I hope you enjoy getting to know her as much as I did. We discussed the challenges of van life, like receiving the dreaded knock informing you that you can’t park in a certain area. Tina experienced this twice: once from a cop in Tampa, Florida, and once at Love’s gas station in Arizona. Despite the difficulties, she appreciates truckers and respects their space. Tina enjoys using truck stops for showers and laundry, and she has a Planet Fitness membership for gym facilities and showers. She shared her journey of transitioning to van life during the pandemic after losing her home, highlighting the comfort and independence it offers. Tina loves traveling and exploring new places, though she occasionally misses the comforts of a traditional home, like a recliner. As a single woman, she takes precautions when choosing parking spots to ensure her safety. Despite the occasional loneliness and practical challenges, Tina cherishes the freedom and flexibility that van life provides. If you’re interested in van life, check out Tina’s channel, “Tina the Outsider,” for more insights and stories.
Welcome to Traveler on Suzy! Today, we’re in for a treat as Tina from Tina’s The Outsider gives us a tour of her No Build Build out van build her 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan. She bought it in late 2019 with 65,000 miles and has since driven it to nearly 200,000 miles. Tina’s setup is a no-build build-out, featuring a twin-size mattress, Alpicool refrigerator, propane tank for cooking and heating, and an assortment of useful accessories like a foldable table, electric can opener, and a pee bucket. She also has an 800-watt Bluetti power station connected to a 100-watt Renogy solar panel mounted on the roof, which she cleans using a step stool. Her van is equipped with practical storage solutions and magnetic window covers, though she advises against the latter due to their weak magnets. Tina’s van is both her home on the road and a testament to creative, functional living.
Through History: Explore the WWII Landing Ship in Evansville Indiana Welcome to the tour of this historic vessel, a testament to engineering and bravery from World War II. Launched in 1942, this ship played a crucial role in several beach landings during the war. After its decommissioning post-Normandy, it was repurposed in 1954 and later sold to the Greek Navy in 1964. We reclaimed it in 1999, and today, it continues to operate, preserving its legacy. During the war, this flat-bottom ship was designed specifically for beach landings. It could carry 20 to 30 trucks, 20 Sherman tanks, and 300 soldiers. Such Landing Ship, Tanks (LSTs) were rapidly built and identified by numbers rather than names, emphasizing their utilitarian purpose. As we proceed with the tour, you’ll encounter various artifacts that offer a glimpse into the ship’s storied past. These include the bunk beds used by soldiers, the anti-aircraft guns that provided defense, and the main deck where tanks were stored and transported. Remarkably, much of the original equipment is still in use today for demonstrations, offering a vivid and immersive historical experience.
Welcome to Three Sisters Spring in Florida, where the weather is a delightful 72 degrees, and we’re enjoying the company of manatees. These gentle giants are fascinating to watch as they gracefully move about the spring, often resting for up to 20 minutes before coming up for air. Despite their massive size, manatees are slow swimmers, typically moving at speeds of 5 to 19 miles per hour. The park is open daily from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. offering onsite parking for those with handicap permits and visitor facilities. It’s a peaceful place where manatees gather to rest, their large bodies resembling rocks as they rest on the ocean floor. These amazing creatures can grow to be 8 to 13 feet long and weigh between 440 to 1,320 pounds. Manatees are herbivores, consuming around 100 pounds of plants daily, which is roughly 10 to 15 percent of their body weight. They’re a protected species, so while visitors can observe them from kayaks or paddleboards, touching or chasing them is prohibited. Three Sisters Spring is a stunning park with scenic trails and abundant wildlife, making it a must-visit spot on Florida’s West Coast, especially during January and February when manatees are particularly active. Come join us for a peaceful and educational experience at Three Sisters Spring!

In this video, I’m going to show you my morning routine for making coffee in my van. I start by filling up the water and plugging in my Bluetti. Since my van is so dark, I never know what time it is when I wake up, but this morning it’s eight o’clock. I put on my glasses and start making my coffee. I use a Dollar Tree plastic container for my coffee because I’m clumsy and afraid of breaking glass in my van. Today, I’m making mushroom coffee with a bit of hot cocoa to make it chocolaty. While the water warms up, I finish getting ready. Once the water is ready, I pour it into my cup and enjoy my coffee. Stay tuned for more van life tips and subscribe to my channel!

Boondocking is also referred to as dry camping, primitive camping, or wild camping. Which One Solar System or Solar Generator Is Right For You????
For van life let’s describe what is a solar generator that is something like Blueitt Jackery eco flow. It’s basically all in one you have your battery monitor you have your battery all your wiring and then a port to hook up your solar panels or a 12 Volt plug that you can hook right to your car and charge while driving. It’s also two movables depending on the size. Our solar system is normally installed in a Pacific location with non-movable lots of wiring and components and can have a learning curve if you’re not familiar with electricity so when it boils down to picking which one you should go with, I recommend everyone start out with a solar generator you ask why good question if you’re not familiar with watts, amps, voltage, 8 gauge, 2aw. A solar generator is really the beginning stage of electric. When you start van life your electricity consumption will probably be small for example a laptop cell phone maybe a refrigerator maybe not most solar generators can handle all of that plus some more. Most of the generators will have a battery monitor with watts or amps of what you’re consuming and what you’re pulling in from the solar panel or you can charge them from your 12 Volt plug in your car. The great thing about starting with this is that if you end up getting a solar system in your vehicle you still can use the generator as a backup or in addition to your solar system. One-year review-Bluetti AC50S
Hi everyone. Are you looking for a power station that is easy to carry and easy to use in van life? If you’re just starting out van life and you don’t know how much power consumption you’re going to have or even where you’re going to put the power, this is ideal for you. I have owned this Bluetti AC50 S for over a year now and I have really thrown everything at it. I am able to charge my laptop, cell phones, lights, bug zappers, and extras while running a Max air fan and my refrigerator. We have run this battery dead probably 15 to 20 times and it still fully charges and works amazingly like the first day. I have a 100-watt foldable suitcase solar panel to charge it, so I can move it wherever I need it while parked in the shade. It really helped me to understand the electrical needs that I have in the van for when I install a solar system.
If you think that a Bluetti product would be good for you, I do have an affiliate link below where I get a small commission on anything you buy. Bluetti has some awesome deals on the AC50s right now. If you’re just starting out in van life I would recommend this one for you because your electrical needs will grow as you get more comfortable in van life. When I started, I just had cell phones and a laptop. Then I got the refrigerator and the Max air fan. Now I have installed solar and still use the Bluetti on a regular basis. In Michigan it’s stormy, so we don’t get enough sun to recharge my solar. If you’re new or just starting out van life I have a Youtube playlist for you. These videos are just to give you ideas and things to think about when starting van life.

We choose how to deal with change. Even if you do nothing that is still a choice. If you complain and do nothing. The change will still happen most likely for the worst. When you decide to make a small choice, it can improve your life. You didn’t get here overnight so nothing will be fixed with one decision. I encourage you to make one small decision at a time. In life, there are always ups and downs. As children, we were taught that once things start going well it will continue (happy ever after) right? Movie after movie. Wake up in real life does not happen that way. There are lots of turns for example high school sweetheart breaks your heart, what career should/need to go into. then you think When I become an adult life when become easier.
Am not sure where this web page is going. As you can tell from my YouTube channel. I love to Travel and learn new things I started traveling in 2019 as a solo female in a car, one of the best things I have done! For most of my adult life, I have been a MOM, Mechanic. Now am trying my hand at the tech world. I am hoping this will be a way to get more in dept with my community. This a place to share ideas. Please come back to see where this turns out
